Mill View’s Marjorie Smith – 100 Not Out
Marjorie Smith, a resident at Mill View care home in Bradford, has celebrated her 100th birthday in style this week.
Care home Manager, Tee Tatum, pulled out all the stops to help mark Marjorie’s century.
Tee said: “Marjorie has lived with us for the last year and in the run up to her big day she told us she would like a vintage tea party for her 100th birthday. She was keen to have everything decorated in her favourite colours of pink and blue and we were happy to oblige – the home looked lovely.
“She’s also a huge Elvis fan, so we found a brilliant Elvis impersonator for her party and we even persuaded The Lord Mayor and Mayoress of Bradford to present Marjorie with the telegram from the Queen.”
Marjorie was surrounded by family and friends for the big day. She said: “The party was more than what I could ever have wished for and it was wonderful to be surrounded by my lovely family and friends. I can honestly say in my 100 years…it’s been the best day of my life! Thank you to everyone who made it so special.”
Happy birthday from everyone at Anchor!
